A guide your customers will keep finding
A sponsored guide is a useful 800 to 1,200 word article on our blog, written to the same standard as the rest of it, with your business in a labeled box at the top and an About the sponsor card at the end. It stays up permanently, it is in our sitemap, and the blog is linked from every town and category page.
Your guide
Tell us who the sponsor is and what the guide should help readers with. You see the draft before it goes up.
What happens next
- You pay by card on our checkout page. The card details are handled by Stripe, and your receipt comes by email.
- We confirm the topic and the sponsor box details with you by email. If the topic would not be useful to a reader we suggest one that is.
- You see the finished draft before it goes up. It is published on the blog, added to the sitemap, and stays up permanently.
Questions sponsors ask
Who writes it?
We do, or we edit what you send, to the same standard as the rest of the blog. Guides that read as advertising are turned down, because readers stop trusting a blog that sells to them.
Does the guide help my ranking on PicksByTown?
No. Position on every page comes from public data. The guide gives readers a reason to call you and gives your site a labeled, permanent link.
How is the link marked?
rel=sponsored, which is the paid-link standard Google asks for. The guide itself is labeled Sponsored at the top.
Can an agency buy guides for several clients?
Yes. Each guide is its own purchase. Agencies on the partner rate pay $200 a guide; see the agencies page.
What if I have a question first?
Email [email protected] and a person answers.
